Job summary

North Coast Electric is seeking a PM Operations Manager to lead the Portland afternoon/evening warehouse, overseeing order fulfillment, packing, loading, and inventory movement. You’ll guide up to six supervisors, drive safety, quality, and productivity, and balance labor with demand while coordinating with transportation, sales, and other partners.

You will use data-driven insights to forecast workload, adjust staffing, and lead Lean initiatives that cut waste and improve flow.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of leadership experience in distribution, warehouse operations, logistics, or similar B2B environment.
• Strong ability to lead supervisors, coach performance, and deliver results through others.
• Working knowledge of warehouse operations, labor planning, inventory control, and service-level management.
• Excellent planning, communication, and problem-solving skills with adaptability to changing priorities.
• Ability to forecast workload from data and adjust staffing accordingly.
• Proficiency with Excel, Outlook, Word and reporting tools; capacity to learn WMS/ERP systems.
• Lean/Kaizen/5S experience or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
• Experience with budgeting, financial forecasting, labor-cost management, and OPEX controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead PM warehouse operations, including order fulfillment, packing, staging, loading, wire room, inventory movement, and coordination with supporting areas.
• Own end-of-day execution by monitoring orders, carrier cutoffs, workload, staffing, and resource allocation to meet SLAs.
• Adjust labor plans during shift based on volume, priorities, attendance, equipment, and constraints.
• Provide leadership and accountability for up to six direct-report managers and supervisors and their teams.
• Develop supervisors and staff through ongoing coaching, training plans, and succession planning.
• Monitor safety, quality, productivity, and KPIs via dashboards and reporting.
• Lead daily shift huddles and coordinate with day-shift leaders, transportation, sales and partners; document risks and actions.
• Respond to disruptions, staffing gaps, safety events; escalate and document root causes and corrective actions.
• Implement Lean and continuous-improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve material flow.
• Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, and retain associates while ensuring coverage and skills.
• Ensure compliance with policies, safety programs, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas; enforce housekeeping and equipment standards.
• Perform other duties as needed.
