Job summary

First Citizens Bank seeks a Global Fund Banking Portfolio Management Analyst III in Phoenix, hybrid role. You will design and maintain BI dashboards and automated workflows, partnering across Portfolio Management, Credit, Operations and Tech to drive data quality and process improvements.

You will support month-end activities, manage reporting inventories, and act as SME for portfolio reporting and automation while coordinating with clients and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reporting solutions, dashboards, and automated workflows using Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Automate).
• Partner with Portfolio Management, Credit, Operations, and Technology to identify process improvements, improve data quality, and deliver insights.
• Support month-end and quarter-end activities, including risk management controls and borrower compliance.
• Analyze business processes, document requirements, manage reporting inventories, and assist with system implementations and enhancements.
• Conduct data validation and quality assurance; maintain procedural documentation; assist with ad hoc projects and queue management; serve as SME for portfolio reporting and automation.
• Interact with Global Fund Banking teams, business partners, clients, and leadership to ensure alignment and delivery.
• Demonstrate ability to balance operational responsibilities with strategic projects in a fast-paced environment.

The Global Fund Banking Business Analyst III is responsible for supporting the Global Fund Banking Portfolio Management team through a combination of portfolio operations, reporting, process automation, and business analysis activities. This role serves as a key resource for enhancing operational efficiency, developing business intelligence solutions, and providing direct portfolio management support during peak workload periods.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Duties & Responsibilities:

Core responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining reporting solutions, dashboards, and automated workflows utilizing Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power BI and Power Automate. The analyst will partner with Portfolio Management, Credit, Operations, and Technology teams to identify opportunities for process improvements, streamline manual activities, improve data quality, and deliver actionable insights through reporting and analytics.

This role will also perform Portfolio Management Analyst responsibilities as business needs dictate, including supporting month-end and quarter-end activities, executing risk management controls, ensuring borrower compliance requirements are met, tracking and reviewing borrower financial reporting, processing loan maintenance activities, coordinating approvals for loan advances, and interacting directly with clients regarding portfolio servicing needs.

Additional responsibilities include analyzing business processes, documenting requirements, managing reporting inventories, supporting system implementations and enhancements, conducting data validation and quality assurance, maintaining procedural documentation, assisting with ad hoc projects, participating in queue management activities, and serving as a subject matter expert for portfolio management reporting and automation solutions.

This position requires regular interaction with multiple Global Fund Banking teams, business partners throughout the bank, clients, and senior leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 2 years of professional experience in business analysis, operations, reporting, or process automation within banking or financial services; or High School diploma/GED with 6 years of related experience.

Preferred:

• Experience developing and maintaining reporting, dashboards, and analytics solutions using Microsoft Power BI
• Experience building workflow automations and process improvement solutions utilizing Microsoft Power Automate and other Microsoft Power Platform tools
• Experience working with large datasets, data modeling, data transformation, and reporting automation
• Strong understanding of banking operations, commercial lending, portfolio management, or credit administration processes
• Ability to identify operational inefficiencies and recommend scalable automation and reporting solutions
• Experience gathering business requirements, documenting processes, and managing projects from concept through implementation
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, with advanced Excel skills and experience utilizing SharePoint Online for collaboration and information management
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into actionable technical solutions
• Ability to balance operational responsibilities with strategic projects in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage business partners, leadership, and clients
• Experience creating and maintaining process documentation, training materials, and procedural guides
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions
• Strong critical thinking skills with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement
• Adaptability and flexibility to provide direct Portfolio Management Analyst support during periods of high volume, including month-end and quarter-end processing
