This position contributes to Sanctuary success by providing support for the Housekeeping Department. Responsibilities include cleaning, stocking, and providing evening turndown service for guest rooms to ensure cleanliness and guest satisfaction, aligning with Sanctuary Commitments and our Promise of Care Enough to do it well, which are critical to the position's success.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Note: the following duties and responsibilities are not all-inclusive
- Provide daily evening service by partially removing and storing bedspread, replenishing amenities, linens, maintaining trash bins and supplies, and filling ice buckets as requested by guests.
- Maintain cleanliness in guest restrooms.
- Sign for room keys and restock carts.
- Visually inspect rooms for cleanliness and appearance.
- Turn in any lost and found articles to the supervisor or the Director of Housekeeping.
- Respond promptly to guest requests for items or information.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks (daily, weekly, monthly) including vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, wall washing, polishing, glass cleaning, and deep cleaning.
- Maintain and restock supplies such as amenities, toiletries, and necessities in public areas, restrooms, and facilities.
- Keep storage areas organized and clean.
- Follow safe work practices and comply with all safety regulations, including those related to cart operation and safety training.
- Handle, store, and label hazardous substances safely; report incidents and refer to Safety Data Sheets as needed.
- Report maintenance or guest issues promptly.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Director or Management Team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The candidate must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Ability to stand, sit, kneel constantly to meet quality and guest service demands.
- Ability to work with cleaning agents, extending arms overhead, bending, and stooping.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to push/pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to scrub, scour, and perform cleaning in confined spaces.
- Maintain a pleasant disposition and work effectively in high-stress environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills, trustworthiness, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
- Work conscientiously, meet deadlines, multitask, and follow instructions with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication in English.
- Accurate recording of work hours via resort time clock.
- Report to your manager when leaving work areas for breaks.
- Follow emergency procedures according to hotel standards.
- Flexibility to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Related Work Experience: Less than one year preferred; experience in a resort is a plus.
