As a Room Service Associate, you will be part of a cohesive team striving to achieve premier patient services. Your responsibilities include providing menus, taking patient meal requests, collaborating with Dietetic Technicians and Dietitians, and participating in meal preparation to ensure proper quantities are delivered.

You will enjoy an additional $1/hour flat rate weekend shift differential and an 18% night shift differential for hours past 9pm. Banner offers free uniforms including one pair of shoes yearly and a 20% discount on food!

Shift: Part Time 25 Hours Evenings - Shift start times at 3:30 pm ending at 8:30 pm, Sunday through Thursday.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position involves providing patients with menu and meal services, recording and relaying requests to Dietetic Technicians and Dietitians, and assembling patient meals according to dietary guidelines. The goal is to ensure patient satisfaction with food and nutrition services.

CORE FUNCTIONS
  1. Visit patients to discuss menu selections based on dietary orders and record preferences.
  2. Exercise judgment with modified diets, food, and menu knowledge; seek assistance when needed; edit menus as required.
  3. Provide patient meal service, including tray setup, food portioning, and tray assembly.
  4. Deliver and serve meals, accommodating special requests and snacks.
  5. Offer excellent customer service and resolve complaints effectively.
  6. Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
  7. Interact with patients, families, staff, and dietetic professionals, following routines and standards, and resolving minor issues with menus and trays.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires basic reading, writing, and math skills. One to two years of related experience in nutrition services is typical. Food handler's card is required within 30 days of hire for Banner Staffing Services team members, except in Tucson and Colorado where it is not required.

Effective interpersonal communication skills and a friendly customer service attitude are essential. Ability to follow instructions, safety guidelines, learn food handling regulations, and pass certification tests is required. Demonstrated customer service skills are necessary.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED, understanding of nutrition services, modified diets, and portion measures. Additional healthcare nutrition experience and bilingual skills are preferred.
