Job summary

ARCHPOINT PAIN PLLC in Cypress, TX is seeking an experienced Medical Billing and Administrative Specialist to manage back-office revenue cycle operations and occasionally support front-desk workflows.

You will handle end-to-end billing for a high-volume PM&R and Interventional Pain Management clinic, optimize cash flow by addressing aging A/R, and verify eligibility and pre-authorizations using Athenahealth and Cerner systems. Front-desk support and HIPAA compliance are also part of the role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year of medical billing, insurance claims, and back-office healthcare administration experience.
• Experience with Athenahealth strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or billing certification (CPB, CPC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end billing for a multi-provider PM&R and Interventional Pain Management environment.
• Aggressively manage aging Accounts Receivable to minimize delinquencies and optimize cash flow.
• Identify, appeal, and resolve insurance claim denials and billing rejections promptly.
• Post patient and insurance payments accurately; update ERA as needed.
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits coverage, pre-authorizations, and referral requirements.
• Utilize Athenahealth and Cerner EHR/PM systems daily for billing and patient documentation.
• Serve as primary point of contact for patient billing inquiries and explain balances, deductibles, co-pays, and payment plans.
• Assist with front-desk duties as clinic volume demands and maintain HIPAA compliance.
