Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality, Arizona Biltmore, is seeking a Pastry Cook III to create baked goods for outlets and assist with banquet production and brunch service. This role supports production schedules, ensures quality and timely output, and maintains high standards of sanitation and teamwork.

Ideal candidate has at least 1 year pastry experience in a professional kitchen, with preference for upscale hotel or resort settings; cooks with a passion for pastries and consistent quality encouraged

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or preferred
• Graduate of an Apprenticeship or accredited Culinary School preferred
• Maricopa County Food Handler Card or ServeSafe certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare items listed on production sheet.
• Date and label all items going into freezer and walk-in; clean as you go.
• Store all items in approved containers that are wrapped, dated and labeled.
• Follow food handler’s guidelines.
• Rotate oldest stock out first; check freshness with chef as needed.
• Clean all small equipment after use.
• Adhere to Resort safety and sanitation policies at all times.
• Maintain professional attitude, demeanor and appearance.
• Wear proper uniform and footwear at all times.
• Demonstrate commitment to reducing risk of injury to guests and associates.

About our property

What you will have an opportunity to do

The Pastry Cook III is responsible for producing baked goods for the outlets, assisting with banquet production and weekly brunches, and keeping up pars while ensuring all production is ready in a timely manner with meets quality standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Prepare items listed on production sheet.
• Date and label all items going into freezer and walk‑in, clean as you go.
• Store all items in approved containers that are wrapped, dated and labeled.
• Follow food handler’s guidelines.
• Rotate oldest stock out first, check with chef if freshness is questionable.
• Clean all small equipment such as mixers, buffalo choppers, etc., yourself immediately after using them.
• Practice and abide by all Resort rules and regulations, safety and sanitation policies at all times.
• Maintain a professional attitude, demeanor and appearance.
• Wear proper uniform and footwear at all times.
• Demonstrate commitment to making a conscientious effort to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury to our guests and associates, damage to our property or the property of others.
• Know the correct action to take in the event of an emergency and demonstrate this knowledge by acting appropriately in the event of an emergency.

What are we looking for

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or equivalent Graduate of an Apprenticeship or accredited Culinary School, preferred

EXPERIENCE

At least one (1) year pastry experience in a professional, high-volume kitchen Hotel / resort experience, preferred Upscale / luxury dining experience, preferred

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

Maricopa County Food Handler Card ServeSafe Food Handler Certification, preferred
