Job summary

Valor Hospitality is seeking a Cook to prepare culinary delights for our hotel guests and cafeteria, ensuring high quality, presentation, and safe, sanitary practices on the daily prep line. You will work across pantry, broiler, sauté, fry and expeditor stations, following recipes and production standards.

Ideal candidates will have 6 months to 1 year in food service, strong knife skills, knowledge of food safety, and the ability to read and speak English.

Qualifications

• Education: High school education or equivalent experience.
• Culinary certificate or degree preferred.
• Experience: Six months – 1 year in a food/beverage services environment or establishment.
• Strong knowledge of operating industrial sized ovens and cooking ranges.
• Must have basic reading, writing and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards, use records, production and portion standards.
• Work all stations on kitchen line to include broiler, sauté, fry, pantry, and expediter stations.
• Date all food containers and rotate as per SOP, ensuring perishables are properly stored.
• Assist in setting up plans to control food cost, waste, and shortages.
• Prepare and service food for the Hotelitarian Cafeteria as specified by culinary leadership.
