Job summary

Traverse City Area Public Schools is seeking a part-time Extended Day Care Program Assistant for the Eastern Elementary School in Traverse City, MI. The role supports children age 3–12 with age-appropriate activities before and after school during the school year.

Responsibilities include supervising, facilitating activities, maintaining records, and ensuring safe, clean facilities. Requires high school diploma and CPR/First Aid certification, with potential for professional development hours

Qualifications

• High school graduate with experience working with children
• Current First Aid and infant/child/adult CPR training or willing to obtain
• Willing to complete up to 16 hours of professional development per MiLEAP licensing requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide child care support services.
• Develop positive relationships with children, parents, staff and community.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities for ages 3–12, indoors and outdoors.
• Maintain attendance and other records as directed.
• Keep the facility and playground clean and safe.
• Address behavior management and report concerns to supervisor.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and family information.
• Participate in staff development activities (up to 16 clock hours/year).
• Administer children’s medications and complete required documentation.
