Job summary

The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is hiring two permanent Trades Generalist, SG-12, to work in the Plumbing Unit at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY. The role involves journey-level work in one trade and skilled and semiskilled tasks in other trades to install, alter, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures in accordance with plumbing codes.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson; or equivalent combination of experience and training from technical courses in skilled trades.

Responsibilities

• Install, alter, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, ventilating, heating control, water, and drainage systems according to specifications and plumbing codes at the New York State Fairgrounds.
• Support repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment for State Fair operations; perform journey-level work in one trade and skilled/semi-skilled work in a combination of other trades.
