The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is seeking two permanent Trades Generalist (SG-12) to work in the Plumbing Unit at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY. You will perform journey-level and multi-trade tasks to support facilities and equipment, focusing on plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance.

Starting salary is $50,425 with potential progression to $61,548 and eligibility for performance-based advances.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson or equivalent training.
• Valid New York State driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle to be operated.

Responsibilities

• Perform journey-level and skilled trades tasks to repair and maintain facilities and equipment in support of State Fair operations.
• Install, alter, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of plumbing systems according to specifications and codes.
