Job summary

Ahern in Fond du Lac, WI is seeking a Plumbing Shop Assistant to join our experienced team. You will handle shipping and receiving, stage materials, select parts, and support a fast-paced construction environment.

This full-time, first-shift role (Mon–Thu, 5 a.m. to 3 p.m., with overtime Fridays) requires a high school diploma or equivalent, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and dependable teamwork. Forklift experience is a plus. We value safety and reliability in every task.

How Will You Contribute

Candidates will be responsible for shipping and receiving the product, staging materials, selecting materials, and picking up parts. Prior experience working in a shipping/receiving setting or warehouse is a plus. Your employment relationship will be governed by a collective bargaining agreement, specifically Local 400. This is a full-time first-shift position, typically working four 10‑hour days M-TH, 5 a.m. to 3 p.m., with overtime on Fridays as needed.

Qualified applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or its equivalent. This job entails a great deal of lifting and climbing. Successful candidates must be self‑stagers, have a mechanical background, have a good working and learning attitude, and be able to work in a fast‑paced construction environment both indoors and outdoors. Dependability and working well as a member of the team are essential. Previous experience working with plumbing components is preferred, but not required.

What You Need To Qualify

Candidates must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, and crouch throughout their shift. Candidates must have demonstrated the ability to work independently in a team environment. You can stand out from other candidates by having a positive attitude, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to perform duties safely and effectively in a fast-paced work environment that is loud at times. Safety regulations must be followed at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, hand, knee, and foot protection). It is important that the candidate has basic computer skills. Previous forklift experience is a plus.
