Ahern is hiring for a Pipe Fabrication Shop - Metal Trades in Appleton, WI. You will learn pre-fabrication and welding processes and assist welders with grinding, loading trucks, heat treating, and hydro testing.

This role involves material distribution and operating forklifts and SkyTrak/tractor in a busy shop. We value teamwork, safety, and problem-solving, with a history of stability in a family-owned company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; aptitude test.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long shifts.
• Able to read and use measuring devices accurately.

• Follow safety regulations and wear PPE at all times.

Responsibilities

• Learn pre-fabrication/welding processes and assist welders with grinding pipe.
• Assist in loading trucks, heat treating, hydro testing, and acid washing.
• Distribute materials and operate a forklift, SkyTrak, and/or tractor.
• Support fabrication operations in a fast-paced, loud environment.

How you will contribute:

The candidate will learn pre-fabrication/welding processes and assist welders/fabricators with grinding pipe, loading trucks, heat treating, hydro testing, acid washing, material distribution, and operating a forklift, SkyTrak, and/or tractor.

What you need to qualify:

Metal Trades Fabricator applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and must meet the required norms on an aptitude test. Candidates must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, and crouch throughout a 10-hour shift, and be able to effectively read and use measuring devices. Candidates must have demonstrated the ability to work in a team environment. You can stand out above other candidates by having a positive attitude, possessing excellent problem-solving skills, and being able to perform duties safely and effectively in a fast-paced work environment that will be loud at times. Safety regulations must be followed at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, hand, knee, and foot protection).
