Job summary

Motive Workforce in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead its Plumbing Service Department. This hands-on leadership role oversees service plumbers and technicians across residential and commercial properties to ensure quality workmanship and strong customer satisfaction.

The General Manager will collaborate with dispatch, vendors, and other leaders to optimize operations, training, and growth of maintenance/service agreements, while maintaining profitability and service

Qualifications

• 5+ years of plumbing management experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of the plumbing trade and systems.
• Experience leading and developing service technicians.
• Understanding of plumbing service, repair, installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and control documentation.
• Knowledge of plumbing codes and practical technical solutions.
• Experience managing department budgets, costs, productivity, and profitability.
• Strong customer service and sales capabilities.
• Experience developing customer relationships and identifying service opportunities.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and teamwork abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong conflict-resolution and problem-solving capabilities.
• Highly organized and able to handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily operations of the Plumbing Service Department.
• Schedule, manage, and provide technical support to service technicians.
• Recruit, interview, hire, train, and evaluate technicians.
• Oversee plumbing repair, installation, startup, troubleshooting, and service activities.
• Review completed work for quality, safety, and standards.
• Establish performance expectations and improvement goals.
• Develop and maintain training programs.
