Hander Plumbing is seeking a Plumbing/HVAC Service Manager in Sioux Falls to lead daily service operations, coach technicians, and drive department performance. You will oversee inventory, scheduling, and budgeting while ensuring codes, safety standards, and client satisfaction are prioritized.

This leadership role emphasizes accountability, operational excellence, and building a high-performing service team to support growth and profitability for Hander Plumbing.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of industry experience.
Strong understanding of residential plumbing service operations.
Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, safety standards and best practices.
Experience managing service technicians and leading performance accountability.
Experience managing inventory, purchasing, warehouse operations and fleet coordination.
Strong leadership, communication and coaching skills.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee daily operations of the plumbing/HVAC service department.
Coach, develop, and hold accountable plumbers and support staff.
Oversee service warehouse operations including inventory, purchasing and stock.
Partner with dispatch and customer service to maximize scheduling and revenue.
Ensure compliance with codes, safety regulations and standards.
Monitor fleet readiness, inventory levels and technician efficiency.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting and overall financial performance.
Resolve escalated customer concerns quickly and professionally.
Collaborate with leadership, sales and marketing to grow demand and profitability.
Implement technician training, coaching and performance improvement plans.
Build and maintain vendor/supplier relationships.
Ensure licensing compliance and operational standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee daily operations of the plumbing/HVAC service department
Manage, coach, develop, and hold accountable plumbing technicians and support staff
Oversee service warehouse operations including inventory management, purchasing, truck stock, and material control
Partner with dispatch and customer service teams to maximize scheduling efficiency and revenue opportunities
Ensure compliance with plumbing codes, safety regulations, and company operational standards
Monitor fleet readiness, equipment availability, inventory levels, and technician efficiency
Oversee departmental budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial performance
Resolve escalated customer concerns quickly and professionally
Work closely with leadership, sales, and marketing teams to help grow service demand and department profitability
Implement technician training, coaching, and performance improvement plans
Build and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships
Ensure proper licensing compliance and operational standards are consistently maintained
