Hander Plumbing and Heating in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a Plumbing/HVAC Service Manager to lead daily service operations, drive department performance, and develop technicians while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of industry experience.
• Strong understanding of residential plumbing service operations.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, safety standards, and industry best practices.
• Experience managing service technicians and leading performance accountability.
• Experience managing inventory, purchasing, warehouse operations, and fleet coordination.
• Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily operations of the plumbing/HVAC service department.
• Manage, coach, develop, and hold accountable plumbing technicians and support staff.
• Oversee service warehouse operations including inventory management, purchasing, truck stock, and material control.
• Partner with dispatch and customer service teams to maximize scheduling efficiency and revenue opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with plumbing codes, safety regulations, and company operational standards.
• Monitor fleet readiness, equipment availability, inventory levels, and technician efficiency.
• Oversee departmental budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial performance.
• Resolve escalated customer concerns quickly and professionally.
• Work closely with leadership, sales, and marketing teams to help grow service demand and department profitability.
• Implement technician training, coaching, and performance improvement plans.
• Build and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships.
• Ensure proper licensing compliance and operational standards are consistently maintained.
