Job summary

Hiller Heating and AC is seeking a plumbing service professional to join our team in Tennessee. You will contribute to a care culture and ensure high-quality customer experiences on every call.

Responsibilities include assisting in installing and repairing sewage and sump pumps, inspecting plumbing systems, and documenting findings for clients. The role requires a valid driver’s license and a strong eye for detail.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Two years’ experience in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and correcting diverse plumbing service issues preferred.
  • Graduate of Total Tech or other plumbing training school.

Responsibilities

  • Create a care culture in every field interaction.
  • Complete calls correctly the first time with quality and care to applicable codes and Hiller standards.
  • Assist in adjusting, repairing, and replacing sewage and sump pumps.
  • Assist in completing all plumbing service calls to applicable codes.
  • Perform thorough plumbing inspections and communicate findings in writing.
  • Assist in repairing drains, sewers, and water lines.
  • Complete all required service documentation and deliver to office.
  • Operate drain cleaning and inspection equipment safely.
  • Follow state laws and local building codes.
  • Inform supervisor when customers lack water or have safety issues.
  • Keep the truck clean, stocked and inventoried.
  • Protect customer homes from damage and leave clean.
  • Transport materials and tools to job sites with proper accounting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Create a care culture.
  • Create a positive customer experience by completing calls correctly the first time with quality and care to applicable codes and to Hiller standards to avoid refunds and recalls ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in adjusting, repairing, and replacing sewage and sump pumps.
  • Assist in completing all plumbing service calls to applicable codes.
  • Assist in thorough and accurate plumbing inspection including Health & Safety Checklist and communicate findings and recommendations to the client in a written option sheet.
  • Assist in repair of drain, sewer, and water lines.
  • Assist in the completion of all required documentation on services including checklist, collecting, and delivery to office administration.
  • Assist with safely operating all types of drain cleaning and inspection equipment (i.e., 1/4, 3/8, and 5/8 drain cleaning machines, hydro jetting equipment, sewer and drain inspection cameras).
  • Follow state laws and regulations and adhere to local building codes.
  • Inform a technician, team lead, supervisor, or manager when the customer does not have water, hot water, or non‑working waste line(s) before leaving the call.
  • Inform technician, team lead, supervisor, or manager of any safety issues.
  • Keep truck clean, stocked and accurately inventoried.
  • Protect customer’s home from damage while working and leave customer’s home cleaner than when you arrived.
  • Transport materials and tools to the job site and provide proper accounting of assigned tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Two years’ experience preferred but not required in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and correcting diverse plumbing service issues.
  • Graduate of Total Tech or other plumbing training school.
  • A valid driver’s license and approved to drive by the Company’s insurance carrier.
  • Must be highly organized with good attention to detail and follow through.
  • Possess good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
  • Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations.
  • Team player working in a team environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Work in outdoor elements with extreme variation in temperatures and weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) at least 50% of the time.
  • Climb ladders and steep stairs.
  • The majority of time is spent standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and reaching.
  • Often works in tight spaces such as attics and/or crawlspaces.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds with ability to push, pull, carry, or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices).
  • Occasionally work from heights 15 feet or higher above ground.
  • Carry a 24-foot extension ladder alone and/or a 40-foot extension ladder with a fellow co-worker on most jobs.
  • Have good visual acuity.

$16 - $25 an hour

Applicants will be required to undergo pre‑employment drug screens and background checks.
