Job summary

IKM Building Solutions, Inc. in West Allis, WI seeks a Plumbing Project Manager to oversee planning, budgeting, and execution of construction projects. The role focuses on scheduling, client satisfaction, safety, and budget adherence.

You will lead coordination with superintendents, manage procurement, and ensure on-time delivery within budget while collaborating with engineers and staff to produce shop drawings.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management or related experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
  • Knowledge of codes and standards governing design and operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to adapt to changing demands.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate project activities with Superintendents, Foremen, Journeymen, and Department Managers.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Represent the company in project and strategy meetings.
  • Manage procurement of supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to staff, workers and clients.
  • Prepare reports on progress, costs and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with engineers to produce shop drawings.
  • Maintain clear communication with customers and contractors throughout the project.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specifications.
  • Partner with Superintendents and Safety personnel to develop and enforce project-specific safety plans.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts and cost-tracking reports.
  • Manage subcontractor RFPs, proposals, agreements and schedules.
  • Negotiate and approve subcontract scope changes in compliance with contract requirements.
  • Oversee divisional Work in Progress (WIP) statistics and present at monthly financial meetings. Perform accurate estimates and take-offs.
  • Ensure necessary bonds, permits, and cerifications are obtained.
  • Contribute to bid packages, including safety, quality and execution plans.
  • Support department meetings and additional assignments with a collaborative attitude.
