Job summary

1901 Inc. in Wisconsin invites a Plumbing Project Engineer to support plumbing projects from pre-construction through completion.

You will coordinate documents, track schedules, and assist with site walks, collaborating with subcontractors and vendors to ensure on-time delivery. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management (or equivalent field experience) and 1–3 years in construction or MEP work, with strong organizational and communication skills to thrive in

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field; OR equivalent hands-on field experience
  • 1–3 years of construction or MEP experience preferred (strong internship/co‑op experience valued)
  • Working knowledge of either MEP systems, construction documents, and/or project workflows

Responsibilities

  • Master project documentation by preparing, reviewing, and processing submittals, RFIs, construction bulletins, and change requests with precision
  • Prepare and review meeting documentation efforts, capturing critical details, distributing action items, and ensuring follow-through
  • Assist with strategic site walks to support coordination, track progress, & maintain quality standards
  • Collaborate on schedule development and monitoring to keep projects on track and aligned with milestones
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, ensuring accountability and on-time deliveries
  • Maintain procurement logs, tracking equipment lead times and material flows
  • Partner with project teams to identify and resolve field issues before they impact progress
  • Support successful project closeout by gathering O&M manuals, as-builts, and final documentation
  • Champion a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all project activities

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field; OR equivalent hands-on field experience
  • 1–3 years of construction or MEP experience preferred (strong internship/co‑op experience valued)
  • Working knowledge of either MEP systems, construction documents, and/or project workflows

  • Exceptional organizational abilities with talent for managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong grasp of construction processes and mechanical systems fundamentals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar platforms a plus
  • Understanding plumbing codes and commercial construction practices is a plus
