Job summary

ColonialWebb Contractors Company is hiring a Plumbing Helper - Construction to assist with lay out, assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems across heating, water, drainage, and industrial applications. You will work under the on-site Foreman and gained teams on various commercial projects.

Responsibilities include following safety rules, handling materials, assisting with trenching, and helping with subassemblies and tool setup.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; restock supplies.
• Cut materials and assemble subcomponents as directed.
• Work safely and encourage others to follow health and safety rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Plumbing Helper - Construction

The primary responsibility of the Plumbing/Pipefitter Helper is to assist with lay out, assembly, installation, maintenance and repairs of pipes, fittings, fixtures of heating/water/drainage systems, piping, piping systems, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, and industrial processing systems according to specifications and codes. The Helper typically reports to the Mechanic or Assistant Superintendent on site.

A Day in the Life

• Maintain strict adherence to all company safety rules, regulations, procedures and practices
• Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and devices during installation
• Perform minor maintenance on tools; clean tools as needed
• Help set up tools and equipment; provide Foreman with necessary tools and supplies
• Material handling as needed
• Performs hand trenching or assists equipment operators with trenching
• Backfills and tamps as directed by plumber/mechanic
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary
• Cut materials and make subassemblies as directed
• Work safely, encourage others to do so, and comply with applicable health and safety-related rules, regulations, and procedures and practices
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

• Possess basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)
• Ability to work accurately within precise limits or standards and evaluate information using measurable standards
