ColonialWebb Contractors Company is seeking a Sheet Metal Helper to assist the Sheet Metal Mechanic with fabrication, assembly, installation, and repairs of ductwork, plenums, fire dampers, and diffusers on construction sites. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and hands-on learning within ColonialWebb's ME P specialties.

This entry-level position offers a clear path to advancement, with a strong focus on following directions, basic math, and practical metalworking skills.

• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.
• Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety rules, regulations, procedures and practices.
• Follow directions from project supervisors.
• Set up tools and equipment.
• Load and unload construction materials from trucks and into building.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
• Make subassemblies and hangers as directed by Mechanic.
• Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials during prefabrication.
• Perform minor maintenance or cleaning of mechanic's tools and equipment.
• Work safely and encourage others to do so.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Sheetmetal Helper - Construction

The primary responsibility of the Sheet Metal Helper is to assist the Sheet Metal Mechanic with fabrication, assembly, installation, and repairs of sheet metal products and equipment such as ductwork, plenums, fire dampers, and diffusers. The Helper generally reports to the Sheet Metal Mechanic, but that can vary based on the job or jobsite.

A Day in the Life:
