WSP USA in Philadelphia is offering a Full-Time Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineering Co-op for Spring/Summer 2027. This temporary position is for undergraduate or graduate students through Drexel University, with anticipated dates March 29 to August 20.

Start dates may be flexible. Join the Property & Buildings Team to gain hands-on experience in plumbing and fire protection engineering, read plans, and contribute to preliminary design.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Mechanical, Architectural, Civil Engineering or related Undergraduate program through Drexel University with anticipated graduation Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Interest in Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineering and related fields.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineering and non‑engineering audiences.
• Ability to take direction from mentors and leaders on projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software and tools.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Support various engineering tasks to develop technical, social and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineering.
• Read and interpret building plans and plumbing/fire protection diagrams.
• Assist with project research, field work and preliminary design calculations.
• Learn Revit to model plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop drawings and specifications.
• Travel to job sites to survey and review existing buildings and construction progress.
