Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineering Co-op for Spring/Summer 2027 in Philadelphia, PA. Open to students enrolled in a Drexel University undergraduate or graduate Mechanical Engineering program and eligible for Drexel Co-op.

The role will involve hands-on work on HVAC and building systems, collaboration with senior engineers, and site visits to survey projects. Start dates are March 29th–August 20th with no relocation support.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering program through Drexel University with anticipated graduation Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Interest in Mechanical Engineering and building systems.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Mechanical (HVAC) Engineering.
• Read and interpret building plans and mechanical diagrams.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Learn Autodesk Revit to model mechanical airside and hydronic components and systems.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop drawings and specifications.
• Travel to job sites to survey existing buildings and construction progress.
