Job summary

WDF Inc., a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking a Plumbing Field Engineer to join our Mt Vernon, NY and NY Metro area project sites. The role supports the planning, coordination, and execution of all plumbing work on construction projects, under the general contractor, ensuring code compliance and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; high school diploma required.
• 2+ years of experience in plumbing or MEP construction, including field or project engineering.
• Experience with a general contractor or large mechanical subcontractor preferred.
• Strong understanding of plumbing systems and codes; familiarity with project docs and submittals.

Responsibilities

• Review plumbing drawings, specs, and submittals for accuracy and constructability.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, architects, engineers, and trades to resolve field issues.
• Assist with layout, installation planning, and field verification of plumbing systems.
• Support BIM coordination and clash detection for MEP systems.
• Monitor installation activities for compliance with plans, codes, and safety rules.
• Maintain logs, track progress, and help prepare field reports and punch lists.
• Assist in developing and maintaining MEP project schedules and cost tracking.
