Job summary

Salas O'Brien is seeking a Plumbing Engineer to provide design, evaluation, and planning of plumbing systems for healthcare, Federal, industrial, municipal, and commercial projects. The role includes on-site surveys and construction support, operating in Charlotte, NC with a comprehensive benefits package.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, a PE license or eligibility in NC, 5+ years of design experience, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Active PE license in NC or able to obtain within 6 months of start date.
• Minimum 5 years of design experience.
• LEED certification/experience is a plus; CPD is preferred.
• Experience with laboratories/medical facilities design is preferred; ASSE 6060 certification is a plus.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
• Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines.
• Excellent work ethic and attitude.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance, and prioritize work.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Design plumbing systems; familiarity with medical/laboratory piping and gases is a plus.
• Design performance specification for fire protection systems.
• Develop systems design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildings.
• Prepare detailed design documents.
• Write/edit project specifications.
• Be responsible for code compliance research.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines.
• Work on site surveys to determine and document existing conditions.
• Provide support for construction administration services.
