Job summary

KDC Construction is seeking a drain technician to inspect, clean, and repair drain and sewer systems in residential, commercial, and industrial properties in the San Jose area. You will diagnose issues, operate camera inspection equipment, and repair clogs while providing accurate estimates and timelines.

Responsibilities include installing fixtures, maintaining systems, and communicating clearly with customers.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months of drain cleaning experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office
• Strong organizational skills and time management
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Must possess a valid state driver's license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Perform drain cleaning services using augers, hydro-jetters, and camera inspection equipment for residential and commercial customers.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, and system failures.
• Install and maintain plumbing fixtures (sinks, faucets, water heaters, piping).
• Inspect plumbing systems and identify potential issues or inefficiencies.
• Provide accurate cost estimates and project timelines.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot drain and sewer issues, root cause identification.
• Perform preventative maintenance on drainage systems to reduce future issues.
• Communicate with customers, explain issues, provide upfront pricing for services.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Work safely per Health, Safety, and Environmental Program.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform drain cleaning services using tools such as augers, hydro-jetters, and camera inspection equipment for residential and commercial customers.

Education, Experience, and Skills

• At least 6 months - 1 year of Drain Cleaning experience


• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Proficient with computers and familiar with the Microsoft Software Suite

• Strong organizational skills
