Job summary

SSR is seeking a Plumbing Design Intern to gain real-world experience in plumbing systems design while working alongside experienced professionals on projects nationwide.

You will assist engineers, prepare calculations using Revit, participate in site visits, and collaborate across disciplines. This internship offers exposure to industry codes and standards and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, or related field.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD tools (preferred but not required).
• Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in the design of plumbing systems for healthcare, education, commercials, sports and entertainment projects.
• Participate in site visits, design meetings, and internal project reviews.
• Prepare calculations, diagrams, and technical documentation using Revit.
• Conduct research to support engineering decisions and code compliance.
• Collaborate across disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil, etc.) in a team-focused environment.
• Gain familiarity with industry codes and standards including IPC, UPC, NFPA, and ASPE.
