Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) is seeking a Plumbing Design Intern to join our Overland Park, KS team. The internship offers real-world plumbing systems design experience while working with seasoned professionals on projects that serve communities nationwide.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Mechanical or Architectural Engineering, possess strong problem-solving and communication skills, and have familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit. IPC, UPC, NFPA, ASPE knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in the design of plumbing systems for various facilities.
• Participate in site visits, design meetings, and reviews.
• Prepare calculations, diagrams, and technical docs using Revit.
• Research to support engineering decisions and code compliance.
• Collaborate across disciplines in a team-focused environment.
• Learn industry codes (IPC, UPC, NFPA, ASPE).
