YWCA Central Alabama is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure reliable operation of our facilities. The role requires preventive maintenance, prompt servicing of issues, and safe handling of electrical and mechanical systems.<\/p>
You will travel locally in your vehicle to perform duties across Birmingham-area facilities, with standard hours Monday to Friday and after-hours on-call as needed. This is a full-time, non-exempt/hourly position.

The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functioning of all facilities. With a steadfast commitment to the safe installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all equipment, this position embodies the principles of reliability and excellence. Through systematic routine preventive maintenance, the technician ensures efficient, safe and seamless completion of assignments and internal processes, thereby advancing our organizational mission and objectives with purpose and determination. This position requires local travel in own vehicle to perform duties.
While performing the functions of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock, working near moving mechanical parts, and working in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Full-time, hourly position with standard working hours Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. or its equivalent, and evenings and/or weekends as required to respond to urgent maintenance issues.
Required to work in both an office and residential environment.
Long periods of time working away from a desk and moving around various YWCA facilities.
This position requires the ability to use standard office equipment, including a computer and telephone each work day. The incumbent will be required to attend meetings or other functions. May be required to lift to 50 lbs.
Incumbent may be exposed to loud noises, electrical equipment, moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places (such as roof tops and ladders), fumes, and outdoor weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to use personal vehicle to travel to remote office and/or events as required.
Primarily in the areas of Birmingham and Woodlawn, with some travel to Homewood. Occasional travel in St. Clair and Blount Counties.
