Job summary

YWCA Central Alabama is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure reliable operation of our facilities. The role requires preventive maintenance, prompt servicing of issues, and safe handling of electrical and mechanical systems.<\/p>

You will travel locally in your vehicle to perform duties across Birmingham-area facilities, with standard hours Monday to Friday and after-hours on-call as needed. This is a full-time, non-exempt/hourly position.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred or 4+ years of experience.
• Valid DMV record and ability to drive YWCA vehicles is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and work order systems such as eSpace.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain facility equipment across multiple sites.
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues to staff and guests.
• Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Read and interpret manuals and work orders with accuracy.
• Diagnose problems, replace parts, and test machinery.
• Maintain safety, organize work areas, and use tools efficiently.
