Job summary

The DC Army National Guard is seeking a Plumber to support Army facilities by maintaining water, steam, and waste piping systems. You will read drawings, plan layouts, and install/maintain plumbing fixtures across a range of materials and connection methods.

You will learn to work on hydraulic and pneumatic systems, advance through Advanced Individual Training, and potentially pursue civilian career opportunities in contracting or utilities with the Guard.

Qualifications

• Must have interest in math and shop mechanics.
• Must be legally eligible to enlist and meet citizenship requirements.
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain heating systems, basic water supply, and water distribution systems.
• Read drawings, plans, and specifications; plan the layout of pipe systems; install and maintain piping and fixtures.
