Position Overview

Responsible for the general mechanical work required for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all plumbing equipment and systems, ensuring the efficient operation of designated County building(s).

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform duties related to plumbing operations at various county facilities, including estimating, installing, repairing pipes and fittings, fixtures, and unclogging drains.
• Drive personal or county vehicle to work sites as needed.
• Assist and train less experienced co-workers and perform other duties as assigned.
• Be on-call after hours as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• At least four years of hands-on experience repairing plumbing equipment and systems in a commercial/industrial setting.
• Current Journeyman Plumber License.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Knowledge of blueprints, use of hand and power tools, mechanical aptitude, and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to pass CJIS clearance, security checks, and drug tests. This is a safety-sensitive position subject to random drug testing.

• Position type: Full-time, regular employment.
• Salary: Commensurate with experience, based on 26 pay periods.
• Work hours: Typically 40 hours/week, may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, overtime, or holidays.
