Job summary

NC State University in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Plumber II to perform skilled installation, repair, and maintenance of complex plumbing systems across campus facilities. The role supports classrooms, labs, residence halls, and other critical spaces.

This journey-level position requires licensing and adherence to safety policies, with work across diverse environments including electrical and HVAC-related systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency; some positions may require licenses or certifications.
• Experience in plumbing trade and related electrical/HVAC knowledge is a plus.
• NC plumbing license or reciprocal in preferred jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, and modify plumbing and piping systems across campus facilities.
• Service domestic, lab, and waste drainage systems and fixtures.
• Perform pipefitting tasks: cutting, threading, assembling, testing, and installing piping and valves.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on plumbing and related systems.
• Diagnose and repair boilers, pumps, and related equipment.
• Follow safety policies and use PPE as required.
• Communicate progress and timelines with supervisors and campus customers.
