Job summary

NC State University is looking for an experienced Electrician II to join the Building Maintenance and Operations team in Raleigh. You will install, maintain, and repair campus electrical systems (550V and below) and support steam, HVAC, and related mechanical equipment across our facilities.

The role requires strong problem-solving, the ability to work in confined spaces, and adherence to safety standards. This on-site position offers opportunities to contribute to a thriving campus community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Experience in electrical maintenance and repair preferred.
• Valid NC driver's license within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair secondary electrical systems (550V and below) and related equipment.
• Maintain electrical components such as conduit, wiring, panels, breakers, switchgear, motors.
• Diagnose, service, and repair boilers, turbines, pumps, and steam lines.
• Perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
• Participate in on-call rotations and work in various environments on campus.
