Job summary

Millersville University is seeking a Plumber 1 to perform maintenance, inspection, repair, and installation on plumbing systems inside and outside facilities. You will measure, cut, assemble pipes, troubleshoot fittings, and work from blueprints. The role supports other trades and reports to supervision for quality and timeliness.

The position offers a permanent, full-time schedule with a 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. shift and AFSCME representation.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience installing, repairing, or maintaining plumbing components or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Knowledge of trade methods, materials, tools, and safety precautions.
• Ability to read and interpret plumbing blueprints, drawings, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Determine tasks, sequence work, and methods for plumbing installations and maintenance.
• Maintain, repair, and install plumbing systems including piping, fittings, fixtures, and valves.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair pumps, drains, and water systems; document work performed.
