Erie County Medical Center Corporation is seeking a journeyman-level plumber for maintenance and repair of building systems and facilities. HOURLY RANGE: $25.72 - $36.77
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The work involves performing work in the skilled plumbing trade, on a journeyman level, in the maintenance and repair of building systems, equipment and facilities. Work is performed under the supervision of a higher-level supervisory employee or department head that assigns and inspects work for conformance with procedures and standards. Supervises and trains lower-level maintenance workers and laborers assigned to assist in the performance of plumbing and related work. Does related work as required.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Good knowledge of the tools, terminology, procedures and equipment of the skilled plumbing maintenance and repair trades; ability to make a variety of skilled repairs and installations rapidly and accurately; ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints and specifications; ability to get along well with others; mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity; initiative and resourcefulness; industry and dependability; physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Elementary education and three (3) years of experience working as an apprentice Maintenance Worker in the skilled plumbing trade.
NOTE: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements
