Job summary

UMBC Facilities Management is seeking a skilled trades professional to maintain and repair campus plumbing systems. You will install, diagnose, repair, and maintain piping, fixtures and drainage, ensuring compliance with blueprints and codes.

The role includes planning installations and supervising others on select projects. Requires four years in the plumbing trade and a Maryland-licensed plumber credential (or reciprocity).

Qualifications

• Four years progressively responsible experience in the plumbing trade.
• Licensed plumber certification required for Maryland or reciprocity.
• Background check will be required.

Responsibilities

• Installs, diagnose problems, repairs and maintains plumbing systems per codes.
• Lays out pipe systems, cuts bends, welds and threads pipe; plan installations.
• Repairs toilets, sinks, drains and fixtures; clear obstructions.
• Prepare time, labor and materials estimates; report status.
• Operate and maintain plumbing tools; clean work area after projects.
• Provide guidance and training to other staff; may lead special projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
