Job summary

The State of Minnesota is seeking a Plumber Chief at Oak Park Heights to perform skilled installation, oversee plumbing projects, and lead Plumbing staff. The incumbent will hold a Minnesota Master Plumber license and manage maintenance programs to ensure compliance with the Minnesota Plumbing Code.

Responsibilities include directing plumbers and other staff, inspecting projects, and coordinating with maintenance to prevent outages.

Qualifications

• Leadership skills sufficient to provide leadwork direction that includes prioritizing and assigning job duties, directing, guiding and reporting on work activities of other staff.
• Possession of Minnesota Master Plumber's License and a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's license.

This position exists to perform skilled installation of plumbing systems, to provide lead work and direction to Plumbers, Plant Maintenance Engineers, General Repair Workers, and other personnel in the completion of plumbing projects and to inspect all plumbing projects and repair either existing or new systems. The Plumber Chief will hold the State of Minnesota Master Plumber license at MCF – Oak Park Heights.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Provide ongoing lead work and direction tomaintenance personnel so that the requirements of the Minnesota Plumbing Code are met.

Minimum Qualifications

The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position:

• Commercial plumbing experience.

• Experience working with electronic controlled plumbing.

• Experience working in a correctional facility.

Physical Requirements

The completion of pre-placement physical components may be required for this position. These components may consist of a tuberculosis screening, commercial driver's license (CDL) drug test, and/or respirator clearance.
