Job summary

Polk Mechanical is looking for a Plumber Apprentice to join our team of professionals. You will work under licensed plumbers to learn installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial plumbing systems.

This entry-level position focuses on hands-on training, safety, and career progression through an approved apprenticeship program. OSHA-10 certification is required or provided during training, with opportunities to advance toward journeyman status.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrolled or willing to enroll in a certified plumbing apprenticeship program.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn plumbing skills.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various positions (climbing, kneeling, etc.).
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• OSHA-10 certification is required; if not possessed, opportunity to take the course prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation and repair of piping systems, fixtures, water heaters, and drainage in commercial properties.
• Help lay out and measure pipe runs and read blueprints or technical drawings.
• Support team in locating and diagnosing plumbing issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area on-site and in storage areas.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites.
• Observe all safety protocols and PPE usage.
• Learn to use plumbing tools and equipment correctly and efficiently.
• Attend training sessions and complete apprenticeship coursework.
