Job Summary:

Performs multiple tasks relating to the plumbing trade throughout the hospital and facilities' supported areas.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Performs such functions as general plumbing repairs, drain cleaning, steam boiler repairs, testing and preventative maintenance (PM), pump repairs and PM tasks associated with plumbing system, and daily tasks associated with testing and maintaining the utility systems.
  • Responds as assigned to emergency codes and procedures.
  • Performs other maintenance related tasks, as directed, based on the needs of the department.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
  • Works under direct supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Position Requirements:
  • Work Experience No experience required
  • Education High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration Plumber - Journeyman's certification or Master Plumber's license required upon hire AND CHFT - Certified Healthcare Facilities Technician (CHFT) through the Institute for Healthcare Facilities Engineering Advancement (IFHEA) required upon hire
