Job summary

Florida Institute of Technology is seeking a plumber to maintain the campus water, sanitary drains, and sewer systems. Responsibilities include installing and maintaining plumbing equipment such as toilets, sinks, and water heaters across the campus.

Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with occasional overtime. Candidates will perform daily inspections, order materials, and keep detailed records of time and materials. After-hours calls may be required in emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Maintenance of domestic water, sanitary drains and sewer systems on campus.
  • Install and maintain plumbing equipment on campus.

Responsibilities

  • Clear drains in bathrooms, kitchens, dorms, offices, etc. for the campus.
  • Repair/replace leaking pipes, pumps, water heaters and plumbing fixtures for the campus.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and related systems according to established schedules.
  • Daily inspections, maintenance and record keeping of time and material for jobs performed as well as company vehicle.
  • Purchase and pick-up material for service requests and projects.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe, clean and orderly condition.
  • Emergency preparedness and support as directed. Additional duties as assigned.
  • Carry rotating cellphone for after-hours emergency calls – may be required to work evenings and weekends in an emergency.

Florida Institute of Technology is a growing, top-ranked universitywith over 2,000,000 square feet of facilities to maintain. Thisposition requires plumbers to maintain the domestic water, sanitarydrains and sewer systems for the entire campus. Install andmaintain plumbing equipment for the campus; including but notlimited to toilets, sinks, faucets, water heaters, water lines,sewer lines, D.I. water systems, R.O. systems, boilers and allother forms of plumbings.

Annual Security & Fire Safety Report
