Job summary

The University of Vermont is seeking a skilled plumber to perform a wide range of plumbing functions, including repair, installation and preventative maintenance of plumbing systems. Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of skilled plumbing functions including repair, installation and preventative maintenance of plumbing equipment and systems.
• Access information utilizing computers; promote a safety-focused workplace.
• Operate a University vehicle to transport materials, tools, and equipment; may be required to use an aerial lift.
• Engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice, inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer service.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

High school diploma, Vermont Journey Plumbing license and one year experience with license in construction plumbing/heating system installation and maintenance plumbing required. Backflow Prevention Device Inspector Certification or ability to obtain within one year required. Vermont Natural Gas Installer Certification or ability to obtain within six months required. Experience using computers and mobile technology required. Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain and driver’s check required. Specific physical requirements may apply based on job functions. Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE ) when performing specific job functions. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of background check and physical screening.

Special Conditions A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), This position is ineligible for telework due to the essential functions, Background Check required for this position, A post-offer pre-employment (POPE test) physical examination is required
