Chelmsford Public Schools at McCarthy Middle School in Chelmsford, Massachusetts is seeking a dynamic Technical Education Teacher to lead the Project Lead The Way Gateway program for 7th and 8th grade students, delivering hands-on instruction in Design & Modeling and Automation & Robotics.

The successful candidate will facilitate a maker‑style environment, supervise PLTW labs, ensure safety, and collaborate with the high school engineering department to align skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Engineering, Technology, or related field.
• Valid MA State Teaching License (DLCS 5-12).
• PLTW Core Training for Design and Modeling and Automation and Robotics (or commitment to complete training over the summer).

Responsibilities

• Lead PLTW Gateway modules for 7th and 8th grade students (Design & Modeling and Automation & Robotics).
• Deliver high‑quality instruction in a maker environment with emphasis on hands‑on projects.
• Ensure safety protocols in labs and manage PLTW labs and materials.
• Collaborate with high school engineering to align vertical skill development.
• Participate in school‑wide STEM initiatives and provide PD participation.
