Job summary

Mclaurin Aerospace seeks a PLSS Project Engineer to join the JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. You will lead project engineering for EVA spacesuit design, development, testing, and certification, and work with a diverse team to turn requirements into compliant PLSS hardware.

Responsibilities include analyzing customer requirements, updating PLSS plans, and documenting test results, hazard analyses, and design reviews.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering with 2–5 years of related experience.
Strong written and oral communication in a team environment.
Knowledge of vent loop gas flow, pressure management, and PLSS CO2 control in xEMU.
Understanding of PLSS design goals and testing.

Responsibilities

Perform project engineering for EVA spacesuit design, development, procurement, manufacture, test, and certification.
Analyze requirements from customers and develop design solutions in a team.
Update plans and agreements for PLSS work scope with team leadership.
Design, develop, test, implement, and analyze PLSS hardware and test configurations.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing and integration.
Review drawings, requirements, and system specs for accuracy and NASA compliance.
Contribute to test reports, hazard analyses, design reviews, procedures, and TPS creation.
