Job summary

Avathon, Inc is hiring an AI Scientist to advance PLM on the Avathon platform. You will build models using BOMs, CAD metadata, and drawings, integrating them with a Computational Knowledge Graph to enable engineers to search, compare parts, and predict change impacts.

The role sits in Product Engineering and requires transitioning models from research to production with clear explanations for customers and leadership.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science or MS with substantial industry experience.
• Strong Python and ML stack proficiency including PyTorch/Hugging Face.
• Experience applying ML to engineering/manufacturing data (BOMs, CAD, drawings).

Responsibilities

• Engineering Data Intelligence: build part similarity, classification and substitution models using attribute data and CAD metadata.
• Graph and Language Models: apply graph learning on the knowledge graph and build retrieval/LLM-based search tools.
• Productization: deploy models to production with monitoring, evaluation and clear explanations.
