Energy + Environmental Economics (E3) is seeking a consultant to join a growing practice in energy modeling and policy analysis. You will develop PLEXOS/ST models and contribute to client deliverables while collaborating with a team of experts.

The role emphasizes rigorous data handling, scenario analysis, and clear communication of results. The position requires advanced degree and several years in energy modeling, with a focus on climate policy and market fundamentals.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience using systems like PLEXOS/EnCompass for production simulation or capacity expansion.
• Master's degree or Ph.D. in engineering, economics, computer science, optimization, public policy or related field.
• 3-5+ years of related experience in an energy-related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop PLEXOS production simulation (ST) and capacity expansion (LT) models addressing client questions.
• Strategize modeling approaches and discuss analysis plans with the PLEXOS team and project leads.
• Gather data from clients and translate into accurate model representations.
• Apply QA/QC to debug cases, assess results, and propose additional scenarios.
