Job summary
Foresight Energy seeks a Programming / PLC Technician to configure, troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, automation systems, and networks across all mining operations. You’ll ensure reliable control of production-critical equipment and support safety and environmental compliance.
Qualifications include 2+ years in industrial automation, proficiency with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix, and MSHA certification preferred.
Qualifications
- Develop, modify and maintain PLC programs for mining equipment and systems
- Troubleshoot automation faults using ladder logic, function block, and structured text
- Integrate and calibrate field devices (sensors, VFDs, relays, encoders)
- Perform diagnostics and network maintenance on Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, and fiber
- Support real-time data acquisition, historian and SCADA interfaces
- Coordinate with electrical and mechanical teams to minimize downtime
- Maintain PLC backups, I/O maps, and network diagrams
- Assist in commissioning new equipment and verifying safety circuits
- Provide training and field support to electricians and maintenance personnel
- Work with engineering to improve process efficiency through automation upgrades
