Job summary

Hydro Extrusions in North America seeks a Maintenance Technician to support night shift operations. You will troubleshoot, modify, and program PLCs (Allen Bradley), read electrical schematics, and upgrade control systems to improve uptime.

The role emphasizes electrical circuits, PM tasks, and accurate record-keeping; entry-level candidates with hands-on experience are welcome. Night shift 11PM–7AM with a shift premium is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting and programming PLCs, especially Allen Bradley.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Willingness to operate night shift and participate in preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, modify, and program PLCs to support production.
• Design and modify electrical circuits and control panels.
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment and improve uptime.
• Maintain maintenance logs and PM documentation.
• Procure parts and materials for work orders.

Shifts Available and Hours:

Night shift 11PM-7AM

Shift Premium: Nightshift - $1.00/hour extra

What you will be doing

• Extensive experience in troubleshooting, interpreting, modifying, and programming PLCs.
• Proficient in working with Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Experience using control logic and ladder logic for automation systems.
• Ability to draw and design PLC and electrical circuits.
• Troubleshoot, design, upgrade, and install electrical equipment, circuits, and systems.
• Improves equipment reliability and uptime through effective maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Research and procure necessary supplies, parts, and machines to complete work orders.
• Performs and documents work orders and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Maintains accurate records, including maintenance logs, manuals, drawings, and preventative maintenance (PM) logs.

What will make you successful?

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Associate degree, technical certificate, or recent completion of a trade school program in Industrial Automation, electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field, preferred.
• Entry-level candidates or recent graduates are encouraged to apply; relevant internship, co-op, academic projects, or hands-on lab experience will be considered.

Skills and Experience:

• Basic understanding of electrical systems and components such as motors, VFDs, sensors, relays, and control panels.
• Exposure to PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), including troubleshooting or programming through coursework, labs, or work experience, preferred (Allen Bradley a plus).
• Familiarity with control logic, ladder logic, or industrial automation concepts.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting aptitude with a willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
