Job summary

Hydro Extrusions North America is seeking a skilled PLC technician for the 3rd shift (M-F, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM) in the U.S. Midwest/NY area. You will troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled systems, program ladder logic, and support HMIs and sensors across manufacturing lines.

Collaborate with engineering on upgrades, train junior technicians, and help drive reliability improvements. Candidates with 3–5 years of hands-on PLC experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years hands-on experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley Logix/Studio 5000 software is preferred.
• Familiarity with HMI applications (FactoryTalk View Studio) is preferred.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP) is a plus.
• Ability to train junior technicians and support engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled systems and components.

• Program and modify PLC logic using ladder logic.
• Integrate PLCs with HMIs, sensors, and actuators.

• Support mechanical technicians as needed (approximately 30%).
• Continuous Reliability Improvement (CRI): use predictive measures to enhance reliability.
• Implement and support continuous reliability improvement standards and practices.
• Emergency response: address breakdowns and other urgent conditions.

Starting rate of pay

$39.00 - $46.00 per hr plus $1.50 Shift diff on night shift.

Shift Details

3rd shift M - F (11.00PM - 7.00AM).

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled systems and related components.
• Perform intermediate programming, safety configuration
• Program and modify PLC logic using standard programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, function block).
• Integrate PLCs with HMIs, sensors, and actuators.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on system upgrades and improvements.
• Train junior technicians and provide technical support.
• This position is a multi-craft role and will be required to support mechanical technicians as needed, approximately 30% ofthe time in role.
• Continuous Reliability Improvement (CRI): Utilize predictive measures to enhance reliability
• Implement and support continuous reliability improvement standards and practices.
• Emergency response: immediate action to address breakdowns and other suddenly developed conditions.

What will make you successful?

• 3-5 years of hands‑on professional experience troubleshooting and supporting PLC-controlled equipment. (required)
• Experience in Ladder logic programming in Allen Bradley Logix/Studio 5000 Software. (preferred)
• Proficient in programming User defined Tags, Add‑on instructions, and Structured text programming. (preferred)
• Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g. Ethernet/IP).(preferred)
• Experience in editing HMI applications in Factory talk view studio. (preferred)
