Job summary

Berner Food & Beverage is seeking a PLC Systems Technician to join our North American manufacturing operations. You will program, commission, and troubleshoot PLC/HMI systems to keep production running at peak throughput.

You will perform root-cause analyses across sensors and drives, maintain backups and revisions, and document updates to electrical and process prints. Collaboration with IT and maintenance ensures a safe, GMP-compliant environment.

Qualifications

• Strong automation controls experience and PLCs, with Allen‑Bradley proficiency.
• HMI development skills and remote I/O configuration (EtherNet/IP/Modbus).
• Knowledge of control wiring up to 480V and solid electrical fundamentals.
• Technical degree or equivalent experience; HS diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Program, commission, and troubleshoot PLC/HMI systems to keep production at peak throughput.
• Root-cause controls issues across sensors and drives; implement changes.
• Maintain device backups and revision histories; document updates to prints.
• Collaborate with Network Administrator to support Facility Controls Network.
• Execute work orders and preventive maintenance; mentor peers on troubleshooting.
• Review KPIs and equipment data with leadership to drive continuous improvement.
