Job summary

Nevada Cement is seeking an experienced automation technician in Fernley, NV to develop, monitor, and troubleshoot PLC logic and HMI controls. You will install, test, and maintain networked instrumentation, repair PLC hardware, and ensure QA/QC throughout projects.

Ideal candidates have a diploma or degree in automation, 1+ year PLC experience (Modicon EcoStruxure) and HMI know-how (GE iFix), plus proficiency with IP addressing and Modbus. Proactive, independent workers excel here.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; automation field degree preferred.
• Min. 1 year PLC programming experience, preferably Modicon EcoStruxure.
• Must have HMI development experience, preferably GE iFix.
• Familiar with IP addressing and Modbus protocols.
• Able to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and troubleshoot PLC logic and HMI controls.
• Install, test and troubleshoot network infrastructure and instruments.
• Maintain backups for PLC programs, Historian archives and iFix data.
• Diagnose and repair PLC hardware, PCs, network and security issues.
• Ensure QA/QC procedures in development, testing and documentation.
• Assist in project planning including budgeting and resources.
